New-look Browns becoming a popular bet in Las Vegas
The Cleveland Browns made substantial process during the 2018 campaign with rookie Baker Mayfield leading them to their best season in years even though they came just short of the NFL playoffs.
Along with the progress and a star in the making with Mayfield, the team is now stacked on both sides of the football following the blockbuster trade sending Odell Beckham Jr. to Cleveland. With Beckham in the fold, the Browns have seen their odds for the 2019 season shifted drastically, according to ESPN.
Their Super Bowl odds shifted from 25-1 to 14-1 at the SuperBook at the Westgate Las Vegas after their trade for wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr., and they’re now the most bet-on team to win the Super Bowl by tickets and money at DraftKings Sportsbook in New Jersey.
Cleveland’s projected wins totals have also been boosted after an incredibly productive offseason has the Browns looking like a legitimate threat in the AFC, via ESPN.
The NFL draft is still nearly a month away, but sportsbook operator CG Technology released NFL win totals for all 32 teams Sunday. Cleveland’s win total opened at nine (over -120, under EVEN), after the Browns went 7-8-1 last year — and 1-31 the previous two seasons. The Browns’ over/under closed at six wins last season.
The real question now is whether the revamped Browns can live up to the hype of having a budding at quarterback, a superstar at wide receiver, a troubled but extremely talented running back in Kareem Hunt, and a new head coach in Freddie Kitchens. Also, the defense is stout with Myles Garrett and Denzel Ward becoming star players.
