NFL Free Agency Posed To Shake Up Odds

Unlike other sports, it is rare for a superstar player in the NFL to hit the free agency. However, this NFL season has some big names hitting the NFL free agency.

The reason many big names do not hit the free agent market is because of franchise tags. This year players who would be on the market are tagged to play another year for their current team. This list includes Steelers running back Le’Veon Bell, Giants defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul, Cardinals defensive end Chandler Jones and Panthers defensive tackle Kawann Short.

Kirk Cousins also got franchised tag for a second consecutive year, making him the highest paid QB in the NFL.

Some big names that could hit free agency and shake up the odds where they land are Dont’a Hightower, Alshon Jeffery and Adrian Peterson.

If Jeffery lands on an up and coming team, like perhaps becoming a number one target for Marcus Mariota or Andrew Luck, those teams odds would increase significantly at Super Bowl glory.

However, do not expect the current Super Bowl favorites, defending champs the Patriots, to be shaken from the top of the odds so easily. Free agency grabs usually only impact the lower level odds in the NFL.
