NFL Playoffs: Packers Underdogs Heading Into Matchup With Cardinals
Back in Week 16, the Arizona Cardinals faced off against the Green Bay Packers in what many believed could be a potential playoff matchup. The Packers were crushed in this late-season showdown at the University of Phoenix Stadium with the Cardinals coming away with the 38-8 victory over Aaron Rodgers and company.
A few weeks later, the Packers were able to get the best of the Washington Redskins in the NFC Wild Card to advance in the NFL playoffs setting up a rematch between these NFC heavyweights. Although the Packers are seemingly back on track as one of the best teams in the league, the Cardinals are the favorites heading into this playoff matchup.
According to Sportsbook.ag, Arizona is favored with a -7 point spread. The Cardinals are more than worthy of being favored in this NFC showdown with the team clicking on both sides of the football.
The Carolina Panthers, a team undefeated for the majority of the regular season, dominated the headlines all year long overshadowing a dominant Cardinals squad. Arizona will have a chance to make a statement in this playoff game against a vulnerable Packers team that has shown many flaws over the course of the season.
At this point, Arizona has the advantage on both sides of the football field and will look to expose Green Bay’s weak offensive line. Aaron Rodgers has been running for his life this season and the matchup against the Redskins was no different.
Although this game could go down to the wire, the Cardinals should ultimately advance to the NFC Championship Game. Taking Arizona at -7 is the safe bet with the Cardinals clearly the better of the two teams.
