NFL Rumors: ‘No Scenario’ Where Adrian Peterson Lands With Bucs
After parting ways with the only team he’s ever played with in the Minnesota Vikings, the future still remains uncertain for superstar running back Adrian Peterson. The 32-year-old still doesn’t have a team despite being linked to numerous franchises like the New York Giants, Dallas Cowboys, Seattle Seahawks, and Oakland Raiders.
The most recent team linked to Peterson is the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Peterson was recently seen working out with quarterback Jameis Winston fueling speculation that the veteran back may end up in Tampa Bay.
According to Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times, Peterson isn’t in the team’s future plans:
No telling where Peterson eventually lands, but there’s almost no scenario where you can picture him in Tampa Bay.
The Bucs appear to be one of the many teams passing on the opportunity or simply have no interest in signing Peterson. The veteran back claims that he’s taking his time to find a new team, and he’s in no rush to find a new home in the NFL, but no teams seem to be eager to sign him either.
Obviously, there’s a lot of time between now and the start of the 2017 NFL campaign, but Peterson’s future is still very much up in the air. It may be quite some time before he’s wearing another jersey. It’s not beyond the realm of possibility that Peterson is still unemployed once next season gets underway on Sept. 7.
The Bucs, however, will seemingly move forward with Doug Martin as their feature back. Tampa Bay may have a bright future ahead with Winston under center and could get back into the playoff picture next season if the team can continue to improve.
