49ers QB Trey Lance is building chemistry more and more with his receivers
After months of uncertainty around Jimmy Garoppolo’s future with the San Francisco 49ers, the franchise has moved fully forward with Trey Lance as the starter.
Lance has embraced the responsibility that comes with the territory. The 22-year-old recently voiced that he is developing a strong connection with the receivers.
“For me, just trying to come out here every day and trying to get better, taking it one step at a time, especially with these practices,†Lance said, via Matt Maiocco of NBCSportsBayArea.com. “One step at a time, one day at a time, and just continuing to groove with these guys.â€

Lance’s chemistry with the receiving core will play a significant factor in success in 2022. The 49ers are hopeful that they can step in and help the franchise take the next step toward contending for the Super Bowl.
He has received unwavering support from general manager John Lynch. Meanwhile, head coach Kyle Shanahan has stated that it is his team to guide forward. Lance struggled with his health and consistency on the limited playing time that he received in his rookie campaign.

The 49ers will continue to lean on star wide receiver Deebo Samuel as the primary offensive factor. Especially after inking his three-year extension that is worth up to $73.5 million.
Lance will have every opportunity to grow as the unquestioned starter, but the pressure will be there to prove that he can be the future under center. The table is set for him to firmly establish himself as a franchise cornerstone.
