Bosa suffered the injury after colliding with teammate D.J. Jones in the second quarter of the wild card win over the Cowboys. Jones accidentally hit Bosa in the head with his knee as he and Bosa attempted to take down quarterback Dak Prescott.

The Ohio State product put together a highly productive campaign, where he led the 49ers with 15.5 sacks, and an NFL-best 21 tackles for loss and 52 total tackles. Bosa’s return brings a significant boost to the 49ers’ pass rush. Especially on the road against one of the league’s top quarterbacks in Aaron Rodgers.

San Francisco holds a tough challenge ahead against Green Bay after finishing with an 8-0 home record. The 49ers ranked fifth in the league with 48 sacks, while ranking tied for 23rd, allowing 21.5 points per contest.

They will need to play a mistake-free game, putting more pressure on quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo to stabilize performance. The 49ers will need their running game to put forth a strong outing to bring offensive balance.

San Francisco will need to replicate their running game success against the Cowboys, posting 169 rushing yards while averaging 4.4 yards per attempt.
