5 best NFL teams to bet on Super Bowl odds

For the purposes of this piece, we aren’t listing the five teams with the best odds to win Super Bowl LIV. Rather, which are the five teams that are the best bets, or the best bang for your proverbial buck? Let’s take a look.

5. Atlanta Falcons (30/1)

The Falcons endured a rough season last year, but it was partly due to a crushing amount of injuries. Going into 2019, the offense should be very dangerous with Matt Ryan at the controls. Only two years ago, this was a Super Bowl participant. Look for Atlanta to be in the mix for a division title, and should it get into the playoffs, there’s no NFC team that stands inarguably above the Falcons in talent.

4. Pittsburgh Steelers (25/1)

Pittsburgh is somewhat of a long shot, but there’s reason to believe at 25/1. For starters, the Steelers have a Hall of Fame quarterback in Ben Roethlisberger and a head coach in Mike Tomlin who has been to two Super Bowls, winning one. The defense might finally have a replacement for Ryan Shazier after trading up to select Devin Bush with the 10th-overall pick. The New England Patriots, Kansas City Chiefs and Los Angeles Chargers are clearly superior teams at the moment, but injuries happen, and teams surprise.

3. Green Bay Packers (25/1)

The Packers finally have a new head coach. They also have Aaron Rodgers. It’s not hard to imagine a scenario where the Chicago Bears slide back, the Minnesota Vikings stay in reverse and the Detroit Lions, are, well, the Lions. Green Bay isn’t without its questions, but the roster is young and talented on the defensive side, and the offense is led by one of the league’s greats.

2. Houston Texans (40/1)

This is really simple. At 40/1, you can bet on Deshaun Watson and a revamped offensive line. It’s a gamble, sure, but you’re playing the odds. Houston has talent and should be a playoff team. Perhaps it can finally help Watson go from very good to elite.

1. Los Angeles Chargers (19/1)

This is the best bet in terms of actual value and a real chance to win it all. The Chargers are coming off a 12-4 season and might have the most complete roster in the NFL. Furthermore, they get to play the Oakland Raiders and Denver Broncos for a quarter of their schedule. The big key here is somehow beating out Kansas City for the AFC West title. They do that, and the Chargers are very likely looking at a first-round bye and perhaps home-field advantage.
