5 best NFL Week 12 games to watch on Sunday

With NFL Week 12 Kicking off on Sunday, we pick the five best games to watch from an uninspiring schedule

5. New England Patriots at New York Jets

Yeah, this slate of games is hideous. There’s always going to be that week in the NFL season and we’ve hit it with the Rams and Chiefs on bye weeks. As well as that, the Saints and Bears already played on Thanksgiving. Still, this one between the Jets and Patriots means plenty, even if it only means something for the road team. At 7-3, New England is going to win the AFC East, but is it going to get itself into a bye week come playoff time? If that’s going to happen, the Patriots need to take care of business against the 3-7 Jets on Sunday.

4. Pittsburgh Steelers at Denver Broncos

Denver is good enough to pull off the upset at home.  Pittsburgh just escaped last weekend, coming back from a 16-0 deficit in the second half against the Jaguars to win and move to 7-2-1 on the year. Now, Pittsburgh is going out west into the Rocky Mountains, where the Broncos are well-known as one of the best home teams in the league. If the Steelers want to win their eighth game of the season against Von Miller and Co., they’ll have to be much better than a week ago.

3. Miami Dolphins at Indianapolis Colts

Incredibly, these two teams are tied for the AFC’s sixth and final seed in the playoff picture. Indianapolis has won four consecutive games to get to 5-5, while the Dolphins are welcoming Ryan Tannehill back into the fold after missing a month. Whoever wins will be feeling good and in the proverbial driver’s seat at 6-5, while the loser falls a game off the pace and misses out on a key tiebreaker. Indianapolis and Miami both have to stack wins where they can, and this is a pivotal matchups to find a victory.

2. Green Bay Packers at Minnesota Vikings

It’s NFL Week 12. The Packers are 4-5-1. The Vikings are 5-4-1. This is obviously a game that could swing which one of these teams makes a real run at the playoffs, and which one is down for the proverbial count. Green Bay hasn’t been able to get out of its own way throughout much of the season, while Minnesota appeared a Super Bowl favorite in August, and now would be lucky to sneak into the postseason as a sixth seed. On Sunday night, the old foes will rekindle old hatred, with so much on the line.

1. Seattle Seahawks at Carolina Panthers

This is the best game of the Sunday slate. Carolina and Seattle both need the win in the worst way, with Carolina at 6-4 but a loser of two straight, while the Seahawks are 5-5 but with a tough road ahead. A loss by the Panthers would have them reeling and straight out of the playoff picture, while the Seahawks either win or face 5-6 with games against the Vikings and Chiefs still looming.
