Aaron Donald Breaks Silence on Expected Rams Return vs. Giants
As the Los Angeles Rams make final preparations for Week 2 at home against the New York Giants, it appears star defensive tackle Aaron Donald will make his long-awaited season debut.
During a media session on Friday, Donald confirmed this, saying he would first need to go through practice before making an official confirmation.
“That’s the plan,” Donald said when asked if he will play in Week 2 via ESPN. “Practice today, have another practice tomorrow, and then we’ll see, but feeling good.”
Donald didn’t travel with the team for the season opener against the San Francisco 49ers after the Rams and the three-time Defensive Player of the Year determined it was best that he delay his return.
Since then, he has continued to ramp up his work in practice, participating in more 11-on-11 sessions to further acclimate his body to full-go settings. In line with that, the Rams have continued to speak glowingly of Donald and his physical response to increased practice workload.

The Rams are taking a precautionary approach to prevent any setbacks that could arise by putting too much on his plate, especially since he is making his return after two years away from the game.
Los Angeles is heading into Week 2 after a disappointing showing in the 27-7 loss to the 49ers in Australia. The team looked nothing like a part of a Super Bowl contender, while star defensive end Myles Garrett is expected to miss at least a month after undergoing knee surgery.
