Aaron Rodgers Agrees to One-Year Deal With Steelers

After months of speculation, four-time league MVP Aaron Rodgers will return for another season as he inked a one-year deal with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Rodgers’ contract will be worth up to $25 million, including a base salary of $22 million to $23 million.

Although there wasn’t any wavering confidence in Rodgers’ return, it wasn’t a guaranteed move as there hadn’t been much movement on that front for much of the offseason. However, the 42-year-old recently returned to the Pittsburgh area ahead of Monday’s OTAs and was seen interacting with a few of his teammates on Friday night.

Rodgers is expected to participate in the team’s voluntary OTAs, putting him in the fold before the team activities truly pick up. He’s coming off putting together a productive first campaign with the Steelers, where he posted 3,322 passing yards with 24 touchdown passes to seven interceptions with a 94.8 passer rating.

The 2025 season was filled with ups and downs, but Rodgers found a way to guide the Steelers into the playoffs after a thrilling season finale win over the Baltimore Ravens.

Throughout much of the year, Rodgers had expressed that the 2025 campaign would be his last, but he never truly closed the door on a return. He will be reuniting with head coach Mike McCarthy, with whom he spent 13 years in Green Bay, including a Super Bowl win.

The familiarity with McCarthy likely played an influential role in agreeing to extend his career another season.
