Aaron Rodgers to make Jets debut vs. Bills on Monday Night Football

Throughout much of the early offseason, the New York Jets remain the talk of the league. Star quarterback Aaron Rodgers’ arrival has put The Jets on the map as one of the NFL’s most intriguing teams. All that hype and buzz has pushed the Jets toward the spotlight in Week 1 with a matchup against Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills on Monday Night football.

Rodgers holds a 2-2 career record against the Bills, where he has passed for five touchdown passes. Although he’s thrown four interceptions as well.

It will mark the first time the team has played on Monday night under head coach Robert Saleh. New York is scheduled to play two Monday night games, the second being a home matchup against the Chargers.

The Jets are hoping the reshaped roster led by Rodgers can lift them over the hump toward more than a playoff berth. The four-time league MVP will be the offensive centerpiece.

New York possesses a stout defense, but the team’s downfall last season was their offensive struggles, especially under center with quarterback Zach Wilson. However, Rodgers could quickly become the missing piece that can make them a legitimate Super Bowl threat.

The task will begin with competing in the tough AFC East against the Bills, Miami Dolphins, and New England Patriots. That alone could become a telling sign of how far the Jets will go in 2023.

Beyond that, New York holds a golden opportunity to take a significant step forward toward the ultimate goal of competing for a Super Bowl.
