A.J. Brown’s First Patriots Comments Say Everything About His New Beginning

Following the blockbuster trade to the New England Patriots, star wide receiver A.J. Brown couldn’t contain his excitement for the next chapter of his NFL career.

Brown took the practice field less than a day after the move that saw him depart from the Philadelphia Eagles in a move that saw the Patritos send a 2028 first-round selection and a 2027 fifth-round selection in exchange for him.

The Pro Bowl wideout said the Patriots were the team he had long desired to play for, dating back to his youth.

“I was just talking to my mom and saying, ‘I’m still in awe.'” Brown said shortly after the practice via ESPN. “Walking up the hill with the uniform, I was like, ‘Man, this is real.’ I caught myself at one point in practice, I wasn’t paying attention because I was like, ‘dang.’ Just trying to take it all in as much as I can.”

Brown has a prime opportunity with New England to latch onto a prominent role in the offensive game plan as the team’s clear-cut No.1 option for quarterback Drake Maye.

The 28-year-old is one of the game’s best offensive talents, who is in the prime of his career, posting four straight campaigns with at least 1,000 receiving yards and seven touchdowns.

Through his first seven seasons, he’s one of seven players in league history to record at least 8,500 receiving yards and 60 touchdowns, putting him alongside Jerry Rice, Calvin Johnson, Randy Moss, Larry Fitzgerald, Marvin Harrison, and Tyreek Hill.

In short, Brown will have plenty of opportunities to shine in New England next season.
