Bengals receive devastating news about Joe Burrow

After an inspired come-from-behind win against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 2, the Cincinnati Bengals got some concerning news about star quarterback Joe Burrow.

Burrow suffered a toe injury during the win against the Jaguars and didn’t return to the game, which resulted in Jake Browning having to finish out the game.

Despite Browning securing the win with a game-winning touchdown in the closing seconds, Burrow will likely be on the shelf for quite some time, according to ESPN.

Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow will undergo toe surgery, coach Zac Taylor said Monday, and it will sideline him a minimum of three months, sources told ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

With Burrow set to miss the majority of the 2025 campaign following toe surgery, the Bengals will turn to Browning to lead the way moving forward.

Burrow suffered the turf toe injury in the first half of Cincinnati’s game Sunday against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Images of his left toe were sent to noted foot specialist Dr. Robert Anderson to be reviewed, sources told Schefter.

With Burrow sidelined for the majority of the season, the Bengals are expected to turn to backup Jake Browning as their starting quarterback.

Even though Browning scored the game-winning touchdown on Sunday, he didn’t exactly have a memorable performance, throwing three interceptions to go along with his three total touchdowns.

Only time will tell how the loss of Burrow for the next three months impacts the 2025 season for Cincinnati, as many will likely anticipate the Bengals no longer being in the title-contending conversation in the AFC.
