Bills QB Josh Allen has been ruled out for Week 7

The Buffalo Bills are off to a rough start out of the gate for the 2018 season, dropping four out of their first six games played.

It appears things have become a little more difficult after rookie quarterback Josh Allen suffered an elbow injury during Sunday’s 20-13 loss to the Houston Texans. According to ESPN, Allen is now expected to miss at least Week 7 action against the Indianapolis Colts.

Buffalo Bills rookie quarterback Josh Allen will not start Sunday against the Colts because of a right elbow injury, and there is concern he will miss multiple weeks, sources told ESPN’s Dianna Russini.

The injury that Allen has suffered is reportedly an injury to the ulnar collateral ligament in his right elbow. This is something that the Bills will look to monitor closely over the next several days as it will provide clarity on the severity of it as his MRI has been sent to Dr. James Andrew for further inspection.

Allen had been the starter for the Bills over the last few weeks, where he has experienced some finding consistency throwing the ball. This injury prevents him from having the opportunity to further work his way through his struggles to find some success on the field.

In his absence, second-year quarterback Nathan Peterman will take over as the starter. Peterman struggled in his brief outing against the Texans completing 6-of-12 passes for 61 yards with a touchdown and two interceptions. He threw both interceptions late in the contest with the first being a pick-six and the latter sealing the Bills’ fate. In his seven career games, Peterman has thrown 10 interceptions while fumbling three times.
