Bills QB Josh Allen remains on ‘cloud nine’ after Stefon Diggs trade

Heading into the 2019 NFL season, the Buffalo Bills were thought to be a promising team. It has a potentially bright future once young quarterback Josh Allen comes into his own. Fortunately, the Bills not only saw Allen take a leap forward but the defense was among the league’s elite and now Buffalo could be a perennial playoff contender in the AFC.

As if things weren’t already trending enough in the right direction for Buffalo, the team made a blockbuster trade this offseason which may have thrust them into the title contender conversation. The team acquired star wide receiver Stefon Diggs from the Minnesota Vikings, and Allen couldn’t be happier about the move, via Nick Wojton of Bills Wire.

“I’m still pumped about it. I am still floating on cloud nine. I just can’t wait to work with him,” Allen told SiriusXM’s MadDog Radio. “We’ve been staying in contact and trying to devise a plan to get together. The things he can do on a football field are unbelievable – the route-running, the way he can make contested catches. I’ve talked to him on the phone a couple of times and [it’s great to see] just how cool of a dude he seems. He’s going to mesh in very well with our wide receiver group. He’s going to mesh well within our locker room.”

Diggs was unhappy with his role in Minnesota even though he was widely considered to be one of the best wideouts in the NFL. The rumors were swirling for quite some time about Diggs wanting out of Minnesota and he got his wish while also joining a teams with Super Bowl aspirations.

The real question moving forward is whether Allen and Diggs will immediately be on the same page and become one of the best duos in the league. If so, Buffalo will be dangerous and the favorite to win the AFC East division title.
