Broncos RB Phillip Lindsay to play with ‘same fire’ despite arrival of Melvin Gordon

The Denver Broncos have yet to recover from the retirement of Peyton Manning. It’s been a marked decline following their Super Bowl title a few years ago. The team has had a revolving door at quarterback and superstar in Von Miller whose patience is running thin.

Fortunately, the Broncos are now potentially one of the most talented teams on the offensive side of the football after an incredible offseason filled with bold moves. The team seems to be going all-in with Drew Lock under center and bolster their running game with Melvin Gordon joining Phillip Lindsay in the backfield.

The move to sign Gordon was an unexpected one as it left questions about the future of Lindsay in Denver. However, the one-time Pro Bowler isn’t worried as he appears as motivated as ever moving forward, via Kyle Newman of the Denver Post.

“I’ve had the same fire from the first time I stepped out here to now,” Lindsay said. “I don’t need another man to fuel my fire… For me, honestly nothing changes. I go out there and I produce when my number’s called. I make big plays like I always have.”

Along with having arguably one of the most talented backfields in the NFL heading into the 2020 season, the Broncos also have a formidable receiving corps led by up-and-comer, Courtland Sutton. He’ll be joined by two top-flight rookies downfield this season with the team drafting Jerry Jeudy and KJ Hamler.

Although it is uncertain if everything will come together for the Broncos in 2020, the talent level is definitely on the rise with some players aiming to prove themselves in Denver.
