Broncos’ Von Miller wants to ‘prove’ blowout loss to Eagles was ‘just a fluke’
Last week, the Denver Broncos were humbled by arguably the best team in the NFL. The Philadelphia Eagles absolutely dominated Von Miller and company en route to 51-23 victory on their home field at Lincoln Financial Field.
With the Broncos’ pride and joy being their play defensively, giving up 51 points is embarrassing, to say the least. Miller, who is without a doubt one of the best defensive players in the league, has taken the loss personally and is determined to prove it was a fluke, via Andrew Mason of DenverBroncos.com.
“I want to go out there and prove that last week was just a fluke,” outside linebacker Von Miller said. “We have the same exact team this week and we have an opportunity to go out here and get a win.”
In Week 10, the Broncos will have another tough opponent with Miller and company hosting the defending Super Bowl champion New England Patriots. Although Tom Brady’s squad isn’t the same dominant team they were last season, New England is still a mighty force to be reckoned with and will pose quite a challenge for the Broncos defense once again.
At the halfway point of the 2017 campaign, the Broncos are in danger of their playoff hopes disappearing. Denver is last in the AFC West coming into this matchup with the Patriots as they sport a 3-5 record and another loss might be the tipping point for this once-dominant defensive force.
The Patriots, however, are 6-2 as they continue their bid to repeat as Super Bowl champions. Brady’s squad will be looking to win their fifth straight game on Sunday.
