Browns coach Kevin Stefanski has no doubt Baker Mayfield is ‘legit’
The Cleveland Browns have finally got their next head coach in place with former Minnesota Vikings offensive coordinator Kevin Stefanski.
One of the areas that will become an immediate need for improvement will be their offensive production. During his introductory press conference, Stefanski voiced that he believes that Baker Mayfield is the real deal, according to Michael David Smith of Pro Football Talk.

“The skill set that our quarterback has is legit. He’s as accurate as they come. I think there’s plenty of things that we’ll do schematically to hopefully make life easier on him, and I’m looking forward to the jump that this kid will take. He’s such a young player. . . . I really think this kid has a chance to take off.â€
Mayfield had a notable dropoff in production from his rookie campaign as he struggled to lead the Browns offense to much success. That came after a fruitful offseason that saw them acquire star wideout Odell Beckham Jr. As well as that, they added Pro Bowl running back Kareem Hunt to the mix.

Cleveland is hoping the coaching change can guide their offense to reach its full potential behind their talent on that side of the ball, which also includes one of the league’s leading rushers in Nick Chubb. The Browns have the roster to make some noise in the NFL, which may come down to having the right head coach in place to push them forward in the right direction to finally get back into the playoff picture.
