Browns fire coach Hue Jackson and OC Todd Haley

The Cleveland Browns are coming off a disappointing performance against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 8, which marked their third straight loss.

The Cleveland Browns fired coach Hue Jackson and offensive coordinator Todd Haley on Monday after a three-game losing streak derailed a promising start to the season.

It had been a highly difficult tenure for Jackson holding a 36-3-1 record in 40 games at the helm. Jackson had decided to make the change at quarterback to rookie Baker Mayfield, which has seen some struggles over the last few games as he works through getting adjusted to playing in the NFL. However, it has seen the team fall further south, sitting in last place in the AFC North holding a 2-5-1 record through the first eight games played.

The Browns have also made the decision to make defensive coordinator Gregg Williams the interim head coach for the rest of the season. Cleveland has a tough matchup lined up in Week 9 at home against the Kansas City Chiefs.
