Browns star Nick Chubb still doesn’t have a return date from knee injury

Cleveland Browns star running back Nick Chubb has eyes on a bounce-back 2024 season after suffering a devastating knee injury.

However, the All-Pro doesn’t have a set date for his return just yet.

“I’m not looking too far ahead,” Chubb said Wednesday via ESPN. “I’m just taking it day by day.

“I like where I’m at. I’m where I need to be.”

Chubb is making his way back from a significant injury that required two surgeries to fix his meniscus and MCL last September followed by a second operation in November to repair his ACL.

Since then, he’s been on a steady path toward making his return next season.

“I’m getting better every day, taking it day by day, getting better,” Chubb said via NFL.com. “Yeah, just right now, trying to get stronger.

“I like where I’m at. I’m where I need to be, I would say that. The biggest thing for me is getting better every day.”

When healthy, Chubb has been one of the league’s top running backs and most consistent producers. He has posted more than 1,000 rushing yards in four straight campaigns, including a career-best 1,525 yards in 2022.

Chubb has been the backbone of the Browns’ offensive game plan, which underlines the importance of his recovery. Cleveland will move through the process cautiously to avoid any setbacks.

The Georgia product is in the final year of his deal, making it vital for him to put forth a highly productive campaign to earn a lucrative payday next offseason.
