Bryce Harper is trying to recruit Le’Veon Bell to the Eagles
It has been a couple of days since star outfield Bryce Harper signed a record-breaking 13-year, $330 million deal to join the Philadelphia Phillies.
It hasn’t taken long for him to become an ambassador for the city as he has already reached out to star running back Le’Veon Bell via social media on Instagram to join the Philadelphia Eagles in free agency, according to ESPN.
A screenshot posted to Le’Veon Bell’s Instagram story shows what appears to be Harper, via direct message, trying to woo the NFL free agent to join him in Philly with the Eagles.
There has been some interaction between the two following that with Bell posting the exchange on his Instagram story. There is no true indication of whether Bell is seriously considering that, but it does show he has seen the comments made by the Phillies’ newest star.
Bell is expected to have plenty of options in the free agent market as he’s still one of the league’s top running back even after sitting out all of the 2018 season. There will be a litany of teams lining up for his services that could very well include the Eagles. Although they have interest in bringing back Jay Ajayi, who had last year cut short due to an ACL tear, the possibility of bringing Bell could significantly outweigh that scenario.
Ultimately, these next couple of weeks could turn out to be quite busy for Bell as he could wind up garnering that lucrative deal that he has been eyeing over the last couple of offseason.
