“I think it means a bunch to our team,” Herbert said, via Gilbert Manzano of the Southern California News Group. “I think it’s a season of all the hard work that we’ve put in this offseason, through these months of football and to have guys up front and some receivers and some running backs that make a lot of plays. It all goes to them.”

Herbert has had his bumps along the way, but he has shown plenty of reason for promise as the future in LA. He has played with plenty of poise and control of the offense while making game-changing plays with his arm.

The Chargers have pieces to build with around him, such as star wideout Keenan Allen, tight end Hunter Henry, running back Austin Ekeler, and wide receiver Mike Williams. The key for Herbert is for him to experience continued growth and maturation in his performance.

There is an opportunity for him to make a massive leap next season and push the Chargers toward a playoff berth despite playing in one of the league’s toughest divisions. The future is bright in LA, and Herbert holds the keys.
