Charles Woodson thinks Aaron Rodgers will eventually leave the Packers

Since the Green Bay Packers moved up to take Jordan Love in the first round of last year’s draft, there have been doubts concerning Aaron Rodgers’ future.

The last several months haven’t seen the Packers move to further stabilize the situation for their star quarterback. Instead, it’s only seen more uncertainty rise from their lack of action behind their supportive words.

With that in mind, former Packers great Charles Woodson did an interview on CBS Radio on Tuesday. In it, he said that he sees Rodgers finishing his career elsewhere. (H/T Pro Football Talk)

“I think it’s one of those situations where, you know, there’s all this talk swirling around between him and Green Bay,” Woodson said. “And I think it could be one of those situations where it gets nasty at some point, somehow in the back and forth between the Packers and Aaron’s agents and then before you know it somehow the thing gets blown up. I mean, I certainly hope that doesn’t happen, but you know where there’s smoke there’s fire.”

The Packers haven’t done anything to suggest that they have plans to keep Rodgers beyond his current contract that runs through 2023. Instead, there is only my doubt that he will even last that long in Green Bay.

Through it all, the 37-year-old hasn’t wavered in his commitment to the franchise. Instead, it’s the Packers that continue to fuel that chatter around the 2020 NFL MVP. Until the front office makes a move concerning the matter, the doubts will remain prevalent.
