Chase Young ready to start fresh with the Saints
It didn’t take long for Chase Young to find his next NFL home as he agreed to a fully guaranteed one-year, $13 million deal with the New Orleans Saints.
Following the move, Young voiced excitement to step in as a key piece defensively.
“I definitely plan to add a good piece,” Young said in a video conference with New Orleans reporters Monday night via ESPN. “I’m going to let my play do the talking.”

Young had spent much of last season with the San Francisco 49ers after being traded from the Washington Commanders. His brief tenure with the 49ers saw him finish with a career-best 7.5 sacks along with 25 tackles. ‘
The Ohio State product will have the chance to become a key piece defensively for New Orleans in 2024.
“I feel like in every area of my game, I can grow. I’m still a young player,” Young said. “I’m going to do my best to make sure [the Saints] know they didn’t pick the wrong one.”

However, the Saints will be without their new edition through a sizable chunk of the offseason due to surgery. He’s expected to undergo a neck procedure that should him be ready in time for the start of the 2024 season.
New Orleans is hoping that his pairing with Cameron Jordan will give them one of the top pass-rushing duos.
He will have the opportunity to take his game to the next level, which will be crucial in landing a lucrative contract next offseason.
