Chiefs superstar Patrick Mahomes on track to play vs. Browns

The Kansas City Chiefs will take the field on Saturday night against the Houston Texans with star quarterback Patrick Mahomes under center.

Despite suffering a high ankle injury in the fourth quarter in the win over the Cleveland Browns, Mahomes is on track to play in Week 16.

“He did look good out there,” head coach Andy Reid said via ESPN. “He moved around pretty good. So, you’re always looking to make sure they can get out the way, not to further any harm to them. So that’s what I look at.

“I’ve been through it with him before, and he amazed me every time he does it. The guy, he’s been so mentally tough and just puts it into a mindset that he has going into it [from] where he was a few days ago.”

Reid’s remarks come shortly after Mahomes went through a full practice workload on Thursday, which was the team’s last of the week. The three-time Super Bowl champion also practiced without any limitation on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Mahomes moving through practice without any issues is a promising sign for the Chiefs, who are looking to move a step closer to securing the top overall seed in the AFC playoff picture.
