Colts Star Jonathan Taylor at Center of Major NFL Trade Buzz
In the days leading up to the trade deadline, the Indianapolis Colts are open to trading star running back Jonathan Taylor.
Several teams have reportedly reached out to the Colts about Taylor, and those conversations are ongoing.
The list of possible landing spots includes the Denver Broncos, Minnesota Vikings, Green Bay Packers, and New York Giants. The Colts have received an offer that includes a second-round selection along with additional compensation.
The 27-year-old is currently under contract for $15 million for the 2027 season and $9.46 million in 2028. His current deal makes him an even more feasible option for teams looking to revamp their backfield ahead of the trade deadline.
Taylor remains one of the league’s most dynamic running backs. Through the first eight games of the season, he has 610 rushing yards on 148 carries with eight touchdowns, along with 21 receptions for 202 receiving yards.
He is the second-leading rusher in franchise history with 8,208 rushing yards, trailing only Hall of Famer Edgerrin James (9,226), while he leads the Colts with 77 rushing touchdowns.

Over the last week, the Colts have become sellers before the trade deadline, trading All-Pro guard Quenton Nelson to the Seattle Seahawks for a 2027 third-round pick and a 2028 fifth-round selection.
Indianapolis also sent Pro Bowl defensive tackle DeForest Buckner to the San Francisco 49ers for a 2027 fourth-round pick. The team is receiving interest in wide receiver Josh Downs, who they believe can fetch them a third-round selection.
