Colts Star Jonathan Taylor Breaks Silence on Trade Rumors
As the trade deadline approaches, several teams have reached out to the Indianapolis Colts about acquiring star running back Jonathan Taylor.
At this point, it is unclear whether the Colts would seriously entertain that possibility. However, it has become a larger talking point as Indianapolis has limped through the season, holding a 2-5 record after falling to the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday.
Indianapolis recently parted ways with longtime general manager Chris Ballard, opening the door for many to believe the franchise could offload talent before next month’s trade deadline.
Before Sunday’s action against the Vikings, Taylor discussed the conversation around his future with the Colts.
“I haven’t given any thought,” Taylor said via ESPN. “That’d be crazy right now, especially because we’ve got a great Minnesota Vikings team that we have to go against. I think it would be a discredit and a disservice to my teammates and this whole organization to think about what could, what should, what may be.”
Through the Colts’ struggles this season, Taylor has remained a bright spot, as he ranks sixth in the league with 587 rushing yards and tied for first with eight rushing touchdowns. He has posted at least one rushing touchdown five times, and notched at least 90 rushing yards on five occasions.

If the Colts venture into trade talks for Taylor, there will be plenty of suitors and the potential for a significant return in a trade package, likely including several high draft picks. It remains something to watch as the trade deadline moves closer.
