Colts star T.Y. Hilton remains uncertain about future in Indianapolis

The Indianapolis Colts have been a solid team in the AFC this season with a potential playoff run ahead of them with veterans Philip Rivers and T.Y. Hilton leading the way.

Although the playoffs may be on the horizon, the future of the team may be hanging in the balance with both Rivers and Hilton potentially not returning to the team next season. Hilton recently said the following about what could be his final game over his Colts tenure against the Jacksonville Jaguars this week, via Pro Football Talk.

“Just go out there and play my game. Whatever happens, happens,” Hilton said, via George Bremer of the Anderson Herald Bulletin.

The Colts and Hilton clearly haven’t seen eye-to-eye over the past couple of years leading to the impasse in terms of a long-term deal for the star wide receiver. Hilton’s persistent injury problems haven’t helped things along the way.

Hilton’s contract with the team will expire this year making him potentially a very intriguing free agent on the open market. Indianapolis has yet to express serious interest in retaining his services and may lose Hilton to free agency and Rivers to retirement if things don’t go the Colts’ way this weekend.

Rivers admitted earlier this week that this upcoming game against the Jaguars could be his last as he may seriously consider retirement after the season.
