Cowboys’ Dak Prescott reacts to shocking Micah Parsons trade

The Dallas Cowboys sent shockwaves throughout their organization and the rest of the NFL this week by trading superstar linebacker Micah Parsons to the Green Bay Packers.

Although Parsons had made a trade request to the Cowboys brass, with the two sides being unable to see eye-to-eye on a new deal, the consensus around the league was that a trade wouldn’t happen. Eventually, he’d put pen to paper, inking what would likely be a massive contract extension.

That didn’t end up happening, and now Parsons is with the Packers, which has undoubtedly had an impact on the team, as well as its players, like star quarterback Dak Prescott, who reacted to the trade and admitted it likely got personal between Parsons and Jerry Jones, according to ESPN’s Todd Archer.

“Just with the way the negotiations went down, obviously to some extent, I mean hell, y’all were asking me questions, it seemed like it got personal on their end,” Prescott said.

Even though Parsons’ getting traded to the Packers is a shock to the system and will impact the way the Cowboys play moving forward, Prescott is looking ahead to the highly anticipated season opener against the defending Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles.

“I know our focus right now is Philly. I think that’s everybody’s focus in that locker room. I don’t think anybody’s hung up on [the Parson trade]. As I’ve said, there’s enough news and enough media about it. I think as much as anything it’s good that a solution happened. Obviously, Micah got paid. He got paid very well and great for him and his family. And we’ll see him here in about a month.”

With the dust now settling on the Parsons situation in Dallas, the attention now turns to the start of the season and what will be an intriguing first matchup between the Cowboys and Packers on Sept. 28 in Dallas.
