Cowboys owner Jerry Jones expects Dez Bryant with the team next season

The Dallas Cowboys have a decision to make on whether to keep one of their best offensive players. Star wide receiver Dez Bryant is set to make $12.5 million next season and his production doesn’t exactly merit the high price the team will be paying him.
There’s a chance the Cowboys brass ask Bryant to take a pay cut in order to stay with the team. The money saved could go to a few other areas and might be the best bet for Dallas, but Bryant has been quoted as saying he’s not interested in going that route meaning the team could decide to release him.
According to Jon Machota of the Dallas Morning News, owner Jerry Jones envisions Bryant being on the team next season at this point in time.

With Bryant seemingly always on the mend from an injury and not putting up numbers in comparison to some of the other high-priced wideouts like Antonio Brown and Julio Jones, it may be time to end ties with a player that was once considered to be among the league’s elite at wide receiver.
Although Jones believes Bryant will be with the team for the 2018 NFL season, a lot can happen this month which could easily change that. Ultimately, it may come down to an ultimatum from Dallas that he either take the pay cut or try his luck in NFL free agency.
As for the Cowboys in general, Dallas has favorable odds to bounce back after missing the playoffs last season. With or without Bryant, the Cowboys will be a force to be reckoned with in the NFC once again.
