49ers Could Make Deebo Samuel A Rich Man Very Soon
Throughout the offseason, the San Francisco 49ers have dealt with lingering questions concerning star wide receiver Deebo Samuel’s contract situation.
Samuel has remained away from the franchise. However, his trainer recently posted a video where he voiced that the Pro Bowl wideout is about to receive a lucrative contract.
“He about to get paid,” Samuel’s trainer said in an Instagram post.
The 26-year-old is in the final year of his four-year, $7.2 million rookie deal. He has made it clear to the 49ers that he either wants a huge extension or a trade.
General manager John Lynch has voiced that the team has no interest in moving their primary offensive talent. All that paves the way for the franchise to eventually offer Samuel a new contract.
He is coming off a breakout campaign, where he proved to be a highly effective versatile talent as a receiver and runner. He recorded 77 receptions for 1,405 receiving yards and six touchdowns along with 365 rushing yards and eight touchdowns.
Many of the game’s top wideouts have received new deals this offseason, which has raised Samuel’s asking price. The likes of Davante Adams, Cooper Kupp, Stefon Diggs, Tyreek Hill, and A.J. Brown all received huge contracts.
Want $250 to bet on the NFL?
Samuel has more than shown his worth to the 49ers as their most dangerous offensive talent. His next deal will likely make him one of the league’s highest-paid wide receivers.
San Francisco will likely want to get the deal done well before the start of the 2022 season.
