Deion Sanders addresses potentially coaching in the NFL

With each passing week, outside speculation is growing louder about Deion Sanders potentially entertaining the idea of making the leap to coach in the NFL.

As Sanders has Colorado moving in the right direction with an 8-2 record, there are a few struggling NFL teams, namely the Dallas Cowboys and Las Vegas Raiders, that have been early pinpoint landing spots.

Despite all that, Sanders once again shot down any notion that he wants to leave the collegiate level for the NFL.

“I’m happy where I am, man,” Sanders said Tuesday via ESPN. “I’ve got a kickstand down. You know what a kickstand is? … That means I’m resting. I’m good, I’m happy, I’m excited. I’m enthusiastic about where I am. I love it here, truly do.”

His comments come off the heels of his former Dallas Cowboys teammate and fellow NFL Hall of Famer Michael Irvin among others voicing that Sanders could be a candidate for the franchise if the organization moves on from Mike McCarthy.

The Raiders have also been circled as a possibility due to the team already being positioned to secure a top pick in next year’s draft. All of which centers on the rumored interest in Shedeur Sanders, who is currently projected as one of the top players in next year’s class if he opts for the NFL.

The Cowboys have also been talked about as a landing spot for Sanders if his son somehow were to land there. Much can change over the next several months, but for now, Colorado appears to still have their coach’s commitment.
