Dez Bryant says playing with Giants, Odell Beckham Jr. would be ‘crazy’
Dez Bryant has been talking about the New York Giants. After eight seasons with the Dallas Cowboys, veteran wide receiver Dez Bryant has officially become a free agent. America’s Team parted ways with the controversial wideout last week.
The one-time All-Pro outlined that he didn’t like the way his departure from the team went down. One thing is for certain moving forward, Bryant is out for revenge. He would love to play for an NFC East rival and face his former team twice a year.
One of those teams is the New York Giants and Bryant recently expressed how much he’d like to play alongside Odell Beckham Jr. and company in the Big Apple, via 247sports.com.
“The Giants,” he says, “got a helluva defense, they’re going to pay OBJ (fellow wideout and pal Odell Beckham Jr.), so coming back. Playing with him, Sterling (Shepard) … the tight end (Evan Engram), (QB Eli) Manning? Crazy. … They draft (Penn State running back Saquan Barkley with the No. 2 overall pick)? That’d be crazy!”
Super Bowl Futures
At this point, there’s been no indication as to whether the Giants are interested in bringing in yet another controversial wide receiver to play with Beckham. In light of all that has gone on with Beckham, that might not be a direction they want to go. Although it would definitely bolster an already talented receiving corps.
If Bryant ultimately ends up joining the Giants, New York would almost certainly be a force offensively moving forward, and if they added Saquon Barkley with the No. 2 pick in the NFL Draft, the team might become a legitimate Super Bowl title contender next season or at least in the near future.
