Dolphins HC Mike McDaniels gives an update on Tua Tagovailoa
Since Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa suffered a serious concussion, it has centered all the attention around the situation.
The Dolphins have taken the precautionary approach with moving Tagovailoa through the recovery process. The team already announced that the Alabama product will miss Week 5 action against the New York Jets.
Head coach Mike McDaniel voiced that Tagovailoa is moving through the recovery, but isn’t traveling with the team.
“There’s several outside specialists that we’re also utilizing,” McDaniel said via ESPN. “We’ll just take it from there, but happy that he’s, you know, you get to see him every day. It’s nice when I walk down the hallway and I hear, ‘What up, beast?’ which is, for whatever reason, he calls me beast all the time. I don’t think I give off the beast vibe, but we’ll just take it day by day from there.”
The Dolphins are handling the situation carefully to avoid any setbacks or unnecessary steps forward before Tagovailoa is ready to go. Backup Teddy Bridgewater is prepared to step in as the starter through at least Sunday’s contest against the Jets.

Meanwhile, Miami is also juggling uncertainty regarding star wide receiver Tyreek Hill due to injury. Hill was placed on the injury report due to a quad ailment.
The Dolphins are hopeful that the Pro Bowl wideout will play. He has had a strong start to the 2022 campaign, hauling in 31 receptions for 477 receiving yards and two touchdowns. It includes two games where he posted at least 10 receptions and 140 receiving yards.
