Dolphins star Tyreek Hill vows to break 2,000 yards next season

Miami Dolphins star wide receiver Tyreek Hill is one to not lack confidence in his ability.

Hill took that up another notch by declaring on his podcast, “It Needed to Be Said,” that in the 2023 regular season he will surpass 2,000 receiving yards.

“I will break 2,000 yards next year, bro,” Hill said via ESPN. “2,000 yards was on my bucket list to get before I leave this league … 2,000 yards and another Super Bowl — we getting that. Believe that.”

That is a mark that has yet to be broken with Hall of Famer Calvin Johnson holding the single-season mark with 1,964 receiving yards that he set in 2012. Since then, Los Angeles Rams star wideout Cooper Kupp came the closest in 2021 with 1,947 yards.

However, Kupp does hold the single year, including playoffs, mark for most receiving yards with 2,425. Hill has become one of the league’s best offensive talents behind his big-play ability. He’s surpassed more than 1,000 receiving yards five times in his first seven seasons.

Hill put together a highly productive first year with the Dolphins last year posting career-best numbers with 1,710 receiving yards on 119 receptions. He managed to reach that mark despite the Dolphins dealing with quarterback issues revolving around Tua Tagovailoa’s health.

Hill will get plenty of opportunities to produce as a key component in the passing game next to Jaylen Waddle, who is coming off a strong second year with 75 receptions for 1,356 receiving yards and eight touchdowns.
