Eagles QB Jalen Hurts Finally Addressed the AJ Brown Trade Rumors

As the trade rumor mill continues to churn around the Philadelphia Eagles regarding star wide receiver AJ Brown, quarterback Jalen Hurts touched on his relationship with his teammate.

The former Super Bowl MVP voiced on Wednesday that he has a good standing with the fellow Pro Bowler.

“Picked the right question to sip [my water] on, huh?” Hurts joked after being asked what a Brown trade would mean both for him and the team via ESPN.

“For us, we’re only focused on learning the offense. It really doesn’t change in terms of our approach to improve. There’s an ‘if’ — obviously it’s been a lingering thing, but nothing can replace all of the greatness that we achieved together.”

As much as Hurts is trying to make light of the situation, it’s hard to avoid the elephant in the room when it comes to Brown’s status in Philadelphia. Throughout the entire offseason, there has been lingering speculation that he will be traded at some point in the coming weeks or months.

It’s led the dialogue toward the New England Patriots being circled as the most likely trade landing spot for Brown. The Eagles have tried to quiet the discussion around their star wideout, but it hasn’t moved in the direction of him being in the long-term plans.

It isn’t just about his standing with Hurts, but the organization as a whole, and that is on shaky ground at best, as it appears inevitable that he will be wearing another team’s uniform come the 2026 season.
