Eagles Land Dontayvion Wicks In Trade With Packers

The Philadelphia Eagles just added another piece to their offensive room by acquiring wide receiver Dontayvion Wicks in a trade with the Green Bay Packers.

Philadelphia agreed to send a 2026 fifth-round pick and a 2027 sixth-round selection in the deal. The team also inked Wicks to a one-year, $12.5 million extension to keep him under contract through the 2027 season.

The 24-year-old is coming off posting 30 receptions on 46 targets for 332 receiving yards and two touchdowns. His pair of touchdowns came in his best performance of the 2025 season, where he had six catches for 94 receiving yards against the Detroit Lions on Thanksgiving.

In his first three seasons, all spent with the Packers, he recorded 107 catches on 180 targets for 1,328 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns in 46 career regular-season games.

Wicks has an opportunity to step into a prominent role in Philadelphia’s passing game, which is looking to bounce back after a disappointing 2025 season.

The Eagles’ decision to trade for Wicks brings more depth at wide receiver, while also potentially bracing for star wideout AJ Brown’s departure. Over the last several months, there has been persistent chatter that the team could move the disgruntled Pro Bowler.

Nothing has yet to materialize, but it appears to have hit a point where a change of scenery for Brown could be in the books this offseason ahead of the 2026 campaign.

In the meantime, the Wicks trade adds more offensive depth around quarterback Jalen Hurts, which could be a significant step forward for the passing game.
