Eagles’ Michael Bennett warns NFC East teams ‘I’m coming’

The Philadelphia Eagles have made some moves during the NFL offseason to improve their chances of repeating as Super Bowl champions next season. One of the biggest moves they made recently was trading for veteran defensive end Michael Bennett.

With Bennett in the fold in Philadelphia, the Eagles have one of the most intimidating defensive lines in the NFL. Bennett, who is coming off a successful stint with the Seattle Seahawks, knows he’s joined something special in Philadelphia and has no problem with sending a warning to his opponents in the highly competitive NFC East division, via Tim McManus of ESPN.

“I know Eli Manning is probably watching this and thinking … yes, I’m coming. I know Dak [Prescott] is watching this like, ‘Yeah, he’s coming.’ Yeah, I am,” Bennett said at his introductory news conference Monday as a member of the Eagles. “And Alex Smith, he knows he can’t run from me. I told him in the Pro Bowl.

“It’s definitely going to be a great season, and it’s going to be fun to be out here and be able to chase quarterbacks.”

Futures

After it’s first Super Bowl win, Philadelphia will be the team to beat in the NFC East. As well as that, they will dominate the NFC altogether heading into the 2018 NFL season. The Eagles will likely have their star quarterback healthy and under center with Carson Wentz returning from his ACL injury. In addition, the defense could be one of the best in the league once again.

The NFC is filled with Super Bowl contenders like the Green Bay Packers, New Orleans Saints, and Minnesota Vikings. Philadelphia should be able to hold their own with veterans like Bennett leading the way.

At this point, the Eagles are considered to be a legitimate force to be reckoned with yet again. It’ll be interesting to how things pan out for the defending champions. Can they try to impose in the conference for many years to come?
