Eagles QB Nick Foles is the ‘top-ranking player’ in NFL merchandise sales
Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Nick Foles is coming off the biggest moment of his career helping guide the franchise to their first Super Bowl win.
According to Darren Rovell of ESPN, Foles had the highest-selling jersey in the entire league from the month of March to May.
Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Nick Foles was the top-ranking player in the NFL in all merchandise sales from March to May, according to the quarterly sales ranking released by the NFL Players Association on Thursday.
This is quite an impressive feat given that Foles had been relegated to being a backup quarterback this season behind rising star quarterback Carson Wentz. However, an injury to Wentz opened the door to him putting the best stretch of games in his career that helped him etch himself in Eagles’ history by pushing them to a Super Bowl win.
Foles was highly effective in the three playoff games as he threw for 971 yards on a 72.6 percent completion rate with six touchdown passes and an interception while holding a 115.7 passer rating. He also notched more than 240 passing yards and held a passer rating above 100 in each contest.
This was all topped off by a strong outing in Super Bowl 52 where he completed 28 of 43 passes for 373 yards and three touchdowns that helped him secure the MVP award where he outdueled New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady. The fact that he was able to lead the league in jersey sales is just another impressive feat.
