Falcons’ Michael Penix reacts to big win over Bills
The Atlanta Falcons secured an impressive win over the Buffalo Bills on Monday night. Second-year quarterback Michael Penix Jr. met the moment with a solid outing that guided the Falcons to upend the Bills.
It was an early-season victory that Penix believes put Atlanta on the map.
“It showed that we’re one of the ones,” Penix said of Monday’s win via ESPN. “This team is really good. This team is really legit.”
The Falcons put together a balanced, all-around performance that featured running back Bijan Robinson totaling 238 scrimmage yards, highlighted by an 81-yard touchdown run. His yardage total was the second-highest single-game total this season.
Robinson became the second player to reach 450 rushing yards and 300 receiving yards through five games in NFL history, joining Hall of Famer Thurman Thomas.
Meanwhile, Wide receiver Drake London had 10 catches for 158 receiving yards and a touchdown. Atlanta had its own against one of the league’s top teams, which should certainly draw attention toward them as a possible playoff team.

The Falcons now sit in second place in the NFC South with a 3-2 record behind the red-hot Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who are 5-1 heading into Week 7. Atlanta is well aware of the big picture of reaching the playoffs, having last appeared in 2017.
“There is no secret,” head coach Raheem Morris said. “We want to be a playoff organization. We want to be able to go compete in those types of games and we played one tonight and there’s going to be no secret. Nobody is going to shy away from those moments. We’ve got to go do it, but those are the moments you want. Those are the moments you strive for.”
It may be an uphill battle ahead to reach that goal, but the Falcons appear to be heading in the right direction.
