Former 49ers RB Reggie Bush awarded $12.5M from Rams

Former NFL star running back Reggie Bush has been involved in an ongoing trial. Has taken the now-Los Angeles Rams to court for a severe knee injury that ended his 2015 season.

According to Joel Currier of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, a jury has ruled that the Rams will have to pay Bush $12.5 million in damages.

A St. Louis jury has awarded millions of dollars to a former NFL running back who suffered a severe knee injury in a game at the Edward Jones Dome in 2015.

The Los Angeles Rams were ordered to pay Reggie Bush $4.95 million in compensatory damages and $7.5 million in punitive damages.

It is a major win for Bush getting compensated for what turned out to be a freak knee injury. He has originally filed a lawsuit in 2016. He claimed that he suffered a season-ending knee injury. The incident occurred in a regular season game against the Rams on Nov. 1, 2015, at the Edwards Jones Dome in St. Louis.

All of this happened when he was returning a punt and was pushed out of bounds that led to him slipping and falling on an exposed strip of concrete behind the 49ers bench. The trial had begun last well, which he argued that the injury cost him the opportunity to earn another lucrative deal as he had missed the rest of the 2015 season and played just one more year with the Buffalo Bills before retiring last year.

This now settles the case while compensating Bush for what turned out to be an unfortunate injury and situation.
