Former Cowboys star Trevon Diggs lands with Packers

As the 2025 season nears a close for the Dallas Cowboys, the franchise made the surprising decision to part ways with former Pro Bowl cornerback Trevon Diggs.

It didn’t take long for Diggs to find a new NFL home after he cleared waivers, as he signed with the Green Bay Packers.

He had inked a five-year, $97 million contract extension in 2023, but he has since struggled to stay on the field, playing in only 21 games over the last two seasons due to various knee injuries.

In 2023, he tore his left ACL in practice, and he missed six games last season due to an issue that required a chondral graft in January in the same knee. Those injury woes have followed him in 2025, as he has missed eight games because of consistent problems with his right knee and also suffered a concussion during an incident at home.

Despite all that, Diggs is ready to prove himself with his new team, pointing out that he’s ready to play right away.

“I think I just need to be myself, you know? Be who I know I am,” Diggs said via ESPN. “Go out there and perform, and performing everything will take care of itself. I’m not chasing accolades. I’m not chasing anything. I’m chasing, you know, being a better me, being better every day … helping this team win.”

Diggs will have the chance to make an immediate impact to help the Packers make a deep playoff push. His first action could come Sunday in the regular-season finale against the Minnesota Vikings.
