Former Vikings RB Dalvin Cook in no rush to sign with a new NFL team

Since the Minnesota Vikings chose to release Dalvin Cook after six seasons, he’s become a hot commodity in the free-agent market.

However, Cook voiced during an interview on The Rich Eisen Show that he’s in no rush to join a new team before the 2023 season.

“My shoulder is feeling great. So, it’s like a waiting game right now at this point. Just trying to find that right situation, and I don’t think it’s a rush or anything,” Cook, who had surgery in February to repair a torn labrum, said via ESPN.

He added: “I want somebody who values Dalvin Cook. I want somebody that wants me to be there and give me the ball. I just want to go into the right situation so I can go help somebody win.”

Cook is well aware of his value and worth to his next team. He’s taking his time in choosing the right team that will allow him to garner the contract he wants and a significant offensive role.

The Miami Dolphins have been circled as the early frontrunners to land him due to being his hometown team. Meanwhile, he could quickly slide into a considerable spot in the offensive game plan.

He remains one of the game’s top running backs, especially after tallying his fourth straight 1,000-rushing yard campaign that earned his fourth consecutive Pro Bowl selection. He’s an elite running game factor that any offense can depend on his significant production.

Although Cook is patiently waiting to find his next team, there should be clarity in the coming weeks.
