Garrett Wilson remains humble ahead of second season with Jets

The New York Jets have gotten more press and hype than any team in the NFL, with the start of the 2023 NFL season right around the corner.

One of the main reasons for the added hype is the arrival of superstar quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who has already struck up some chemistry with star wide receiver Garrett Wilson.

The young wideout is coming off a brilliant rookie season in New York, where he made a name for himself even with a shaky quarterback situation.

Although he’s a star on the rise, Wilson remains humble heading into his second season with the team via the New York Post.

“I don’t think I’m a star,” Wilson told The Post at his locker. “I just play football. I do it well, luckily, and I’m thankful for all my fans. But I don’t think that I’m a star in this town. There’s so many stars in this town, actual stars and stuff that I definitely ain’t.”

With Rodgers now throwing him passes, the expectation is Wilson could be on an All-Pro level in 2023, but that hasn’t changed his mindset, as he knows he still has a lot more to prove in this league.

“I ain’t done nothing yet,” he said.

“I gotta prove myself and just make sure I’m taking big steps, man.”

It’ll be interesting to see how Wilson improves with Rodgers as his quarterback and if this connection becomes one of the best in the NFL, much like Davante Adams and Rodgers were with the Green Bay Packers.
