Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr. will miss regular-season finale
The New York Giants will finish out a disappointing 2018 NFL season without superstar wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. on the field. The perennial Pro Bowler is set to miss the team’s regular-season finale against the division rival Dallas Cowboys, according to Jordan Raanan of ESPN.
New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr.will miss his fourth straight game with a quadriceps injury after being ruled out for Sunday’s season finale against the Dallas Cowboys at MetLife Stadium.
As Raanan points out, this is the fourth straight game that the team’s star wideout will miss due to injury. This ends a season to forget for Beckham as it was derailed by injuries once again following a season in which he played only three games in 2017.
In 12 games this season, Beckham caught 77 passes for 1,052 yards and six touchdowns. Although those are impressive stats for other wide receivers around the NFL, Beckham has set the bar high and this year will hopefully the beginning of the end of the team’s struggles with rookie Saquon Barkley emerging as a legitimate star and a possible change at quarterback next season.
The main concern for the Giants regarding Beckham will be his long-term health moving forward. The superstar wide receiver recently signed an extension making him the highest-paid player at his position and now he’s dealing with injuries on an annual basis which isn’t a great sign for New York, especially with Barkley seemingly being the top option in the offense at this point in time.
