Jaguars newcomer Nick Foles planned to retire back in 2017
The Philadelphia Eagles had something special going during the 2017 NFL season. Even though star quarterback and new face of the franchise, Carson Wentz, went down with a season-ending knee injury, the team was able to endure and follow the lead of Nick Foles.
The team ultimately went on to win their first Super Bowl in franchise history and Foles instantly became a legend in the city of Philadelphia. However, the veteran quarterback is now starting a new chapter of his career with the Jacksonville Jaguars, but he almost decided to go in a different direction before going on the epic run with the Eagles.
Foles seriously considered retiring from the game due to elbow issues and he let current Eagles star Brandon Graham know what he was thinking, via Tim McManus.

This is a surprising revelation considering how different things would be for the Eagles had Foles ultimately made the decision to call it a career. The veteran gunslinger was exactly what the team needed to pull off the impressive playoff run and take down Tom Brady and the New England Patriots in the Super Bowl.
The question now is how much fuel does Foles have left in the tank and if Wentz can lead this team back to dominance in the NFC. Foles will be at the helm of a talented Jaguars team while Wentz will also have a stacked squad on both sides of the football.
It’ll be interesting to see how things turn out for both quarterbacks moving forward.
