Jalen Hurts Breaks Silence on Eagles’ Stunning AJ Brown Trade

For the first time since the Philadelphia Eagles traded AJ Brown to the New England Patriots, star quarterback Jalen Hurts addressed the move through the media.

Hurts used the opportunity to speak to the success the duo had achieved together while shifting the focus to the path ahead.

“You come into it, and you have a sense of pride in how it began and definitely what we were able to accomplish,” Hurts said via ESPN. “Nothing can take that away. For the great things that we did, now it’s time to focus on achieving great things with this new iteration of the team.”

Brown put together a highly productive four-year tenure with the Eagles, where he further established himself as one of the league’s premier pass catchers behind four straight campaigns with at least 1,000 receiving yards and seven touchdowns.

The 28-year-old has produced at a historic pace as he’s notched at least 8,500 receiving yards and 60 touchdowns, putting him alongside Jerry Rice, Calvin Johnson, Randy Moss, Larry Fitzgerald, Marvin Harrison, and Tyreek Hill through his first seven seasons.

Brown will immediately step in as the Patriots’ top passing game threat in hopes that he can be the missing piece that elevates them back to Super Bowl contention.

Meanwhile, the Eagles spent the offseason revamping their wide receiver room before the Brown move by signing Hollywood Brown and Elijah Moore in free agency, along with trading for Green Bay Packers wideout Dontayvion Wicks.

Philadelphia also moved up to the 20th overall selection in this year’s draft to take USC standout Makai Lemon.
