Jason Garrett, Cowboys ‘excited’ to have Ezekiel Elliott back

The Dallas Cowboys are clinging to their playoff hopes after a crucial win over the Dallas Cowboys last week. America’s Team is still alive and now have arguably their best player back in the mix with Ezekiel Elliott returning from his six-game suspension.

The second-year back will be on the field for Week 15 when the Cowboys go head-to-head with the Seattle Seahawks on Christmas Eve. Elliott will give the team a considerable boost on offense and has the squad, and head coach Jason Garrett excited about his return, via ESPN’s Todd Archer.

“He’s obviously a really good football player and a big part of that is the mentality that he brings,” Garrett said. “And he brings it every day whether it’s a walkthrough, a practice or on Sunday for three hours. He just plays with the right demeanor. He loves to play football. He loves working at it and again [we’re] excited to have him back.”

The Cowboys will have a tough challenge ahead of them this weekend with the Seahawks hungry and look to avenge an ugly loss to the Los Angeles Rams last week. Dallas will be at home in Week 16 with the odds currently in their favor as Elliott gets back on the gridiron.

Although Elliott will probably be rusty in his first game in quite a while, the team is still the favorites against a Seahawks team that is primarily depending on Russell Wilson to put them on his back to remain in contention.

Seattle will be motivated to make a statement after falling so hard to the Rams, but the Cowboys may be the better team coming in and should come out with the win on Sunday.
