Jaxson Dart reacts to Giants hiring John Harbaugh
The New York Giants have quickly found their next head coach in John Harbaugh, which has quarterback Jaxson Dart excited about the future ahead.
Dart said Harbaugh was the one name he hoped would secure the Giants’ vacancy.
“When Coach Harbaugh’s name came up, that was the one that we were all really, really excited about and wanted to have,” Dart said during an interview with ESPN while on a family vacation. “So I think from just our standpoint, the guys just can’t wait to play for him and have the chance to get coached by him.”
Harbaugh is joining the Giants after an 18-year tenure with the Baltimore Ravens, where he helped guide the franchise to a Super Bowl win, 12 playoff appearances, six AFC North division titles, and three AFC Championship game appearances.
Dart and the Giants are hopeful that he can bring that same level of sustained success to New York. It has been an absolute struggle for the franchise to take a meaningful step forward, as they held a 7-27 record over the last two seasons.

However, the Giants do possess a young, promising roster, headlined by players like Dart and Malik Nabers.
“The quarterback is kind of important. That’s kind of a big deal,” Harbaugh said. “I’m excited about Jaxson Dart. … I like the way he plays. I like his talent, skill set, all the things he’s accomplished, but more than that, I like who he is and what he’s about. To me, he’s about football.”
There is renewed excitement that could set the stage for a promising 2026 season.
