Jets Announce Sanchez to Start on Sunday

The New York Jets are going with quarterback Mark Sanchez this Sunday as they take on the Jacksonville Jaguars in Jacksonville. Last week they pulled Sanchez in favor of Greg McElroy who led them to a 7-6 win over the Arizona Cardinals to throw his hat in the ring. With Tim Tebow sidelined with rib injuries, McElroy  was the only left to put in after Sanchez threw three picks.

McElroy’s play further muddied up the Jets situation for this week’s game in Tebow’s home town of Jacksonville. The Jaguars were hoping Tebow would be named the starter so they could sell tickets. Had they done so, the tickets would be selling like hotcakes right now. But the Jets stubbornly keep sticking with Sanchez despite his awful play all season.

The Jets, Miami Dolphins and Buffalo Bills all sit at 5-7 this week. The Bills host the St Louis Rams this week. The Rams come in at 5-6-1 after knocking off the San Francisco 49ers a week ago. Miami will visit the 8-3-1 49ers on Sunday.

The New England Patriots have already clinched the division after beat the Dolphins on Sunday. They prepare to take on the Houston Texans on Monday Night Football this week. A win in that game pulls them to within a game for the best record in the AFC and home field advantage throughout the playoffs. The Pats have won six straight games and hold tie breaker over the 9-3 Denver Broncos. However the 9-3 Baltimore Ravens hold the tie breaker over them.
